Zardozi is a type of embroidery- Zar means Gold and Dozi means embroidery. Originating from a Persian word Zardozi literally means embroidering with gold threads. The gold coils and beads work is done on fabric using needle and thread. The fabric that sits most for these works is Velvet, silk and organza, though lot more fabrics are used these days. The real zari made from copper, Gold and Silver is used to make beautiful motifs like phhol-patti, animals, sun, moon,stars and other figures inspired from nature.  Be it the Bhopali Batua, purses, mobile cover or elaborate sarees, wedding dresses, sherwani Zardozi is made for all!
